A Year of Building, Growing and Celebrating 2/3

Our Stories · Part 2 of 3

Tesifa Community · 2024/2025

As the months progressed Tesifa entered a season of momentum and meaningful growth. Thayu Farm began to expand in ways that encouraged us deeply. A 1,200–capacity chicken coop was completed and we introduced 250 chickens as a test pilot.

This confirmed that our sustainability model was not only possible but already functioning well. Support from friends near and far helped the farm grow further and strengthened our vision for the future.

A 50-capacity goat pen was built and named Tidy’s Pad in honour of the Tidy Family whose generosity made it possible. Donations from Chris and friends in the UK enabled us to purchase 15 goats, and later we welcomed an experienced herdsman to care for them.

Important transitions also took place at the Tesifa Children’s Home. For the safety and wellbeing of the children, we moved to a new home after nearby construction drastically reduced their outdoor play space. The move opened new possibilities and created a safer environment.

Shortly after, we welcomed three siblings into our family and enrolled them in school alongside our other children.

Tesifa children schooling achievements
All children completed the year with A-grade results.

Education became one of the brightest parts of the year. Two transitioned to secondary school with straight A results in their national exams, and another moved proudly from kindergarten into Grade One. Alongside their achievements, we celebrated birthdays, welcomed two new puppies and said goodbye to our beloved dog Cloe.

We also received a special visit from Duncan and Chris who brought books, toys and clothing for the children. Together we took part in a Kila Dada distribution at a local church and raised enough funds to supply cereals and essential foods for an entire year.

In total, three Kila Dada distributions took place across two schools and one church — placing 475 kits into the hands of girls who needed them most.

A Season of Momentum and Milestones

  • Major expansions across Thayu Farm
  • A safer and more spacious children’s home
  • Outstanding academic achievements
  • 475 girls supported through Kila Dada
  • Partnerships that strengthened our entire community

It was a season filled with progress, partnership and celebration — a reminder that growth often comes quietly but powerfully.
