FPCT-Tesifa Children’s Home gives children from difficult backgrounds a place of safety, belonging and hope; not a programme, not a shelter but a real home in Tanga, Tanzania.
In 2020/2021, Rachael and her late husband Mark were leading a small teaching ministry in the Kange neighbourhood of Tanga when they came face to face with a few local children who needed more than anyone around them could give i.e safety, consistency and the simple experience of being cared for.
What started as small and practical acts of support soon made one thing clear: these children needed a home.

With no resources but a great deal of faith, they said yes. A safe house was found. Essentials were gathered. School doors opened through the generosity of others. And step by step, provision came, not all at once, but enough. Always enough.
Five years on, FPCT–Tesifa Children's Home is a place of stability, healing and joy. Eight children are thriving here learning, laughing, and growing up in a family that chose them. It is a quiet testimony to what love, faith, and courage can build when a community says yes together.

Our Family Model
We believe every child deserves more than shelter. They deserve a family.
At Tesifa, our home is led by a devoted house parent who lives alongside the children sharing meals, doing homework, navigating hard days, and celebrating small victories. This isn’t a programme, it’s a way of life.
Growing up in this environment, our children experience what healthy relationships actually look and feel like. They learn trust, belonging and care, not as concepts but as daily lived reality. It shapes not only who they are now but who they will become: adults capable of building strong families and strong communities of their own.
Looking ahead, our vision is to expand to Thayu Farm, land we are blessed to steward on the outskirts of Tanga. There, we plan to establish additional family units where children can grow up close to the earth, rooted in the rhythms of nature, farming and daily home life.
